- Rapid development of e-business technologies have given shape to increasing competence among SMEs. Considering this fact, this research relates to adoption of e-business models and strategies in order to achieve competitive advantage by small businesses. Small businesses play a vital role in the economies of developing countries. By harnessing the power of e-business, such businesses would be able to compete with medium and large-sized companies. However, small businesses in Pakistan are contending with multifarious challenges, which often inhibit their ability to grow. Propitiously, the advent of global health crisis has given a stimulation to small businesses in disguise to digitalize their business practices so that it can attain competitive advantage in the local and international market. In this regard, examination of functioning of innovative business practices materialized and coupled with different characteristics of online business. The study opted for qualitative analysis with the help of survey questionnaire. A number of findings were established where development opportunities and barriers to adopt e-commerce strategies were identified.
